Kotobukiya is also proud to present an all-new rendition of a popular Marvel Comics character: Black Widow Covert Ops Gray Costume Limited Edition Bishoujo Statue. Sculpted by Masahiro Takahashi (based on an illustration by Shunya Yamashita, famed Japanese illustrator)
Dynamic posing captures Black Widow in mid-action lending a sense of movement to the entire piece

Quotes and image taken from here. To be honest, I’m really not sure whether the ‘sense of movement’ is meant to be towards or away from the viewer…

I’ve had this submitted to me a few times today.  I’m a bit confused.  This is an “all new” figure?

Because it looks an AWFUL LOT like that figure.  Except her body is slightly changed, her hair is a different colour, and she’s holding a knife instead of a gun.  I have to admit, if the artist got 2 paycheques for basically altering one design, kudos to them!
Either way, since it’s basically the same, my comments from the original stand.

  18. anniefelis said: Plagerism happens a lot in japanese art. A lot of their comics are traced off one another, so it makes sense that a lot of their figurines would be knock-offs of one another too.
